Before the shoot
General tips
Try to rest well the night before.
Get plenty of fluids to stay hydrated and keep your skin plump and clear.
Avoid fried and salty foods as they may cause water retention and puffiness.
Style
The headshot will reflect your personal brand as well as the company. Your face and personality will be the main focus, so your outfit and accessories should complement you and not take over. Think about your headshot as the first impression you create.
Outfit: Wear clothes that make you feel confident, fit your style, and look professional. A shirt/top with a suit, blazer, or cardigan would be a great combination. You can also accessorize with a scarf. Make sure that at least one of the main pieces is in solid color. Avoid turtlenecks, shiny materials, busy patterns, and distracting colors. You can bring an extra outfit or accessories to get a few different looks, casual and business. We may also take a full body-length shot.
Makeup: Wear simple makeup that enhances your features and represents you best. You can emphasize your eyes as they are a central focus. Avoid excessive makeup. If you have compact or loose powder, bring it to the shoot for a touch-up to avoid your face looking shiny.
Hair: a neutral style that highlights your face's natural curve and shape is always the best choice. If you need a haircut or new hair color, have them done at least 2-3 days before the shoot to allow them to settle in.
Glasses: We can take photos with and without glasses. Clean your glasses before the shoot. Lenses with anti-reflective coating work the best, and you can also bring frames without lenses. Avoid transition lenses.
Jewelry: Avoid large and distracting pieces of jewelry.
Personal preferences to share with your photographer:
Do you have a preferred angle or side?
Are there any concerns about anything you want to avoid showing much in the photos (scars, pimples, broken teeth, etc.)?
Do you want to achieve a specific look? Share any examples you have.
Is there anything you want to highlight?

You can bring powder or makeup if you need quick touch-ups.
We will try a few different poses – serious and casual, sitting and standing, close-up and farther away.
Feel free to change outfits or accessories to get a few different looks.
We plan a white background, but we also may experiment with the black one.
Share any ideas you have.
